Buying Prescription Medicine Online

Many people are tired of the high prices of medicines, even those who have good insurance coverage. Now there are many pharmaceutical companies offering medicines online for half of the price at your local pharmacy.

Usually, an online company will require you to have a signed prescription by your doctor or a nurse practitioner that you can mail or fax with your order. But some medicines do not require a prescription; you merely order them online or over the phone.

One question you might want to ask your doctor is whether it is a good idea to use generic medications. Many online companies offer name brand medications, but they also offer generic brands at a much lower cost. The difference might be the way in which your body metabolizes the drug; so always ask your doctor first before attempting to utilize a cheaper form.

One example of a drug that is much cheaper is albuterol inhalers for those with asthma or bronchitis. One refill inhaler at a pharmacy can cost $40.00 to $50.00. But if you shop around online you might find a company that offers 2 inhalers for the price of one.

You can also print out offers from online companies and take them to your doctor's appointment and ask if this is a good way for you to obtain your medicines. If your doctor agrees, you can save hundreds of dollars per year by shopping around and utilizing an online pharmacy.
